They’re lovable and beautiful.

Event: a beauty contest. Time: Morning. Place: FICCI House, Mandi House.
They all were beautiful. They all wanted to win the crown. They came in cars, autos, DTC buses. They were from Delhi, from small towns near Delhi. A few came from as far as Benares.
The first round was a catwalk followed by a short introduction to the judges. The Delhi Walla got their stories there. In their own words (and grammar).
What will happen to me?
“I’m pursuing my graduation from Delhi University, correspondence course. I have potential. I believe in ambition. I have an ambition to be a fashion designer and smiling is an important part.“
“I’m in Delhi University, studying in the 2nd year. My hobbies include studying, dancing.“

“I’m a 2nd year student in Political Science (Hons) in Delhi University which is the best university in the world. I’m a very good basketball player. I love to do shopping. That is all about me.“

hilarious…..its way better than those silly blonde jokes (same flavour though!)
Indian girls are very beautiful yet educated and sophisticated. Dusky Indian girls are also quite exotically beautiful.

I guess that other nations’ chances at Miss World/Universe/Space are diminishing constantly, like the blue whale population. Now we know why. Do you think there is a Beauty Pageant Phrasebook out yet?
Mayank I’m a bit puzzled about your stance, at times you seem to be the champion of the middle classes yet on the other you nitpick and deride them.I admire your blog but fear that it’s becoming (and making you look)opportunistic.

Oh, there was text? I didn’t bother to read. But only a few of the girls looked attractive at all (the girl in the green dress is gorgeous though)

I have fatigued my senses by reading what all the ladies had to say at the ‘beauty contest’… I believe that Delhi by far has the best and most of the Northern Indian beauties. But if these comments came from the car-walis and south delhi-walis then I am going to be cautious!
One Dilli ‘ex’ of mine (few dates, nothing else, but haunted & stalked me later!) loved making “Frraands” who could have a ‘parrti’ at their ‘ghars’.. And when her ‘frraand’ wouldn’t pick the phone the following was offered- ‘bhench** phone nahi utha sakta tha, kutta!’
In such cases, admire them from a distance and don’t smile! ‘Naaver’
