[Pictures by Aanchal Malhotra; text by Mayank Austen Soofi] Greetings. In 2010, my life’s first books – the four-volume The Delhi Walla series – were published. But my life didn’t change. I wasn’t invited to the 2011 edition of Jaipur Literature Festival. No grief. Delhi keeps me occupied. Every day I meet interesting people and discover interesting places. In 2011, I’ll continue with the Mission Delhi project – seeing the city through the lives of its people. I’ll continue with the Biographical Dictionary – profiling the famous Delhiwallas, alive and dead. I’ll continue to find romance in the city’s monuments. I’ll continue to sample the city’s food. I’ll continue to explore the city’s bazaars. I’ll continue to capture the city’s beautiful moments. I’ll continue to track the city’s seasons. Walking with a camera and a notebook, I’ll continue to crack Delhi’s secret codes. I have faith in Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. Love the Delhi Walla. We lived in Delhi from 2003-2005. Our daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour while we were there and stopped breathing it was quite tramatic. We used a very local small hospital in the Visant Vihar area (almost like a machine shop) and then went on to a larger hospital in Delhi for her CT scan and brain surgery. Ever thought of doing something on hospitals in Delhi….from the small to the large?
Happy New Year Mayank! Looking forward to many fascinating glimpses of Delhi through your camera and your writing.
Have a prosperous & happy new year !! I regularly visit your site & it gives lot of intersting facts about the city. I often visit Delhi & I love the ambience & feel of the city.
