right, I agree with you. And we could finally lay bare the absurdity inherent in the fuss religious people create whenever someone burns one of their “holy” books.

By dragging and dropping them into the Recycle Bin and then emptying the bin,one could delete thousands of .pdf copies of all the blessed hole-y books of all faiths(an act that would essentially destroy the pdf texts). Would that provoke the religious mobs?

While i wont go into the romanticism or sentimental value associated with owning / reading a paper- book , i would certainly like to opine that the era of the hard book is soon going to end .And you better adapt.
I recently got my final yr MBBS books, nay tomes, scanned and digitized from a ver cheap California company called 1dollarscan. They scanned my books converted the text to searchable pdf format . And all for photocopy price (120rupees for 100pages) . And i love the final product . I can immediately google any word from my dermatology text now while i m reading it on my ipad . I always imagined in my secondary school that someday such amazing way of reading would emerge and i m so happy that it has , in my coolege life.
The ebooks dont strain our forests , can be reproduced easily (can be DRM protected too) , and dont need huge racks to stack up on . A brilliiant piece. I read on ebooks is linked below
