City Moment – The Dance of a Woman, Appetite German Bakery
The memorable instant.

The woman with the hat is wearing a gown. She is alone.
One afternoon The Delhi Walla meets her at the Appetite German Bakery in the tourist district of Paharganj. Each time I have an itch to travel around the world, I head to this café and gaze at the foreign backpackers for hours.
The woman starts talking to me.
“I’m Lilo Marina…” She has a soft raspy voice. “I’m from a small town in Australia… I’m in India to find something new in life… I’ll be learning the Indian classical music.”
The woman then gets up, walks towards the bakery counter, and suddenly she turns around and starts to slowly wave her arms.
“I’m dancing,” she says in a sing-song tune, and continues to wave her arms. She also starts to gently sway her hips.
It is a beautiful moment.
A way in the world
